MAIN POINT: Believers must live faithfully to God even when it doesn’t make sense.

The Set Up

In Faith, Believers must...

A. Renounce Belief in Our Faith

B. Relinquish Our Own Understanding

C. Rely on God’s Sovereignty

"God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart." -Charles Spurgeon

D. Respond with Obedience

Beyond the Walls (Grace and Growth)

Day 1: READ Daniel Chapter 3:1-18

What are some situations in which you may have to show faith under fire the way Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had to in this text?

What did these three men care about more than their lives?

Day 2: READ Daniel 2:47-48 and 3:1-7

Nebuchadnezzar’s tribute to Daniel’s God in chapter 2 was shallow and short-lived. How can we discern when praise and repentance are genuine?

Day 3: READ Daniel 3:8-15

The Hebrew men faced enormous pressure to conform. How does our culture pressure believers to reject God and conform to cultural norms?

What are some of the idols of our day that demand for our worship?

Day 4: READ Daniel 3:8-15

How are you tempted to react when accusers and critics come against you? How does this line up with the reactions of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego?

Why is it often too late to develop our convictions in the moment of truth?

Day 5: READ Daniel 3:15

Why should you identify with King Nebuchadnezzar before you try to identify with the three Jews?

How does King Nebuchadnezzar's words relate to you?

Day 6: READ Daniel 3:16-18-26

When God doesn’t deliver us from dangers, trials, disease, or even death, does that mean he has abandoned us? Why or why not?

How does the presence of Christ affect the way you face temptations to worship and chase after other gods?
