Snow/Ice Policy
At Hope Church, we deeply value the gathering of God's people. Our unity in Christ, as expressed in our life and practice statement, is central to our spiritual growth and our mission to make disciples. We believe that regular fellowship and corporate worship are essential to our spiritual well-being. Worshiping together and fellowshipping with other believers strengthens our faith and equips us for discipleship. While we prioritize gathering, we also recognize the importance of safety. We also acknowledge that winter weather presents unique challenges to our commitment to gathering—shoveling, clearing vehicles, and lengthened drive times. If the concern is safety however, we desire people to stay home. We trust that God will honor our desire to worship Him, whether gathered in person, or in our homes due to safety concerns.

Our approach to snow closures prioritizes the opportunity for us to meet together, recognizing the importance of the local church in our lives.

General Policy:
-
Safety First: We understand that winter weather can be unpredictable and that drivers have different levels of comfort with winter driving. Your safety is paramount. If you do not feel comfortable driving in the prevailing conditions, please stay home. Please feel no obligation to be in person if safety is the reason to stay home.
-
Staffing: If you are part of a ministry (hospitality, children’s ministry, music), please contact the pastor or ministry lead.
-
Family Worship: We encourage those who cannot attend in person to engage in family worship at home. Prioritize resources such as scripture reading, prayer, and worship music.
-
Online Access: The sermon will be recorded and made available online later in the day. We encourage you to watch and participate so we can continue to grow together as a church.
Communication:
-
We will text any service cancellations due to snow or ice on Saturday at 4 p.m. and/or Sunday at 8 a.m.
-
Assume church services will continue if no text is received.
